A pregnant woman who was in labour died today after she was allegedly delayed by police officers for not wearing a face mask in the Ogun Waterside local government area of Ogun state. According to reports, the deceased, Waidat Adedeji, went into labour and was being rushed on a motorcycle by one of her children to the Ita-Otu General hospital when they were stopped by police officers at Sowore checkpoint. Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu, NCDC DG Zamfara State Government on Tuesday said the figure of 10 new COVID-19 cases in the state announced on Monday by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) was wrong, as the state had only recorded two new cases.   Alhaji Yahaya Kanoma, the state Commissioner of Health told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Gusau that the state government had alerted the NCDC of the error and demanded that it be rectified.
